Steps to Replace an Axle/CV Boot: 1. Lift the vehicle: Loosen the lug nuts, jack up the car, and secure it with jack stands. Remove the wheel. 2. Remove the axle: Disconnect the lower ball joint or sway bar link if necessary. Remove the axle nut. Slide the axle out of the hub assembly. 3. Remove the old boot: Cut off the old boot and clamps. Clean the CV joint thoroughly with a rag or parts cleaner. 4. Install the new boot: Slide the small clamp and new boot onto the axle shaft. Pack the CV join
