Comet 24P/Schaumasse still going strong!Captured on the morning of Jan 31st from my remote telescope in Texas. This is a time lapse showing motion over 2.5 hours. 24P is a periodic comet discovered in 1911, that orbits the Sun every 8 years. It’s currently 58 million miles from the Earth and is moving away from us at 1.5 miles/second. Its brightness is magnitude 9.8 and has started to dim as its distance increases.
