In my experience as a CCC-SLP in HISD Spring ISD, speech therapy in schools is usually group (often 3–5 students) or push-in in classrooms—not routinely 1:1. If you’re a parent relying on school-based services, ask at your child’s ARD/IEP meeting: ✅ How many students are in the group? ✅ How many minutes/week and where will therapy happen? ✅ Is 1:1 being considered—and what data supports it?
