Hundreds of organizations across Washington participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The program focuses on providing nutritious food to children and adults in care, with the goal of promoting the development of good eating habits. DSS’ Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) encourages participating child care programs to find fun ways to teach about healthy food. Recently, Head Start programs with the Waccamaw EOC, Inc. in the Pee Dee region held a farmer's market where children "purchased" fresh fruits and vegetables.
