We have 16 research groups in Oxford Mathematics and the Mathematical Biology group is one of the biggest with nearly 50 faculty, researchers and postgraduate students, reflecting the growing importance of modelling in biology and medicine, as computational power and lots of data enable mathematicians to create sophisticated models of biological behaviour that medics, for example, can then incorporate into their treatments.
