Scientists have successfully revived the Dire Wolf, an ancient species of wolf that went extinct 10,000 years ago! This marks the first time their howls have been captured. These two wolves were brought back to life through genetic edits based on a fully reconstructed dire wolf genome, painstakingly created by “Colossal” from ancient DNA extracted from fossils dating back between 11,500 and 72,000 years.
