🦇🌑 The sounds of the night🦇🌑 We use audio devices to identify bat species present across the landscape. Because we can’t hear the squeaks and squawks the bats use for echolocation, these devices pick up the sounds for us. We then run the sound through some nifty software that converts it into a frequency we can hear. The software also visualises and measures the sounds for us. Using these techniques, we can infer different things about the kind of bat that made that call. For example, slow-f
