The Pratt & Whitney JT8D low bypass turbofan is one of the most significant jet powerplants in the history of aviation - starting life on the 727, the DC9 , later the 737 and not to forget the Dassault Mercure. With having this pair of engines and all going well, soon displaying them at the National Transport & Toy Museum in Wanaka NZ we will be paying tribute to the JT8D's legacy and as per our plans they will eventually be part of the B737-219 (ex ZK-NAD) display.
