Worked example: intercepts from an equation
Let's find the x- and y-intercepts of the equation 2y + 1/3x = 12, where a line crosses the x-axis (the x-intercept) and the y-axis (the y-intercept) on a graph. To find the x-intercept, we make y equal to 0 and solve the equation for x. To find the y-intercept, we make x equal to 0 and solve for y.
