Sebaceous filaments are perfectly normal, but can be removed through by regular cleansing, whether that be an oil cleanser or regular cleanser. Cleansers with salicylic acid may help remove sebaceous filaments and slow their formation by exfoliating the pore and minimizing build up of dead cells. Sebaceous filaments are essentially collections of dead cells and dried sebum.
